Now, for a contest! We now have a new base yarn that I LOVE! It is 50% Suri Alpaca and 50% Merino. It is so soft you wouldn't believe it! I am dyeing some now for myself to make baby sweaters and the like from it. It is sport weight but it is not superwash. I know you guys will love it as well. It will make unbelievably warm socks!

Well SAFF was a blast! We are still not unpacked nor caught up! I made a couple of fiber purchases, but none I am able to post photos of because they will be Christmas gifts!

Off to SAFF 2008!

Well its about midnight the night before departure and I think I am finally ready for some shut eye! We are taking a lot of stuff up the mountain tomorrow. Several bag kits, toy kits, tons of hand dyed yarns (sock, dk, aran weights) spinning fiber, sock blockers and more!
We are super excited.

SAFF is almost here! AND new products on order!!!

We are super busy getting everything ready for SAFF. We are taking lots of new colors of hand dyed yarn, rovings, Punky Pouches, hand painted sock blockers and bag kits.
We have also placed orders for some new products!
First are HANDMADE (from bamboo) knitters rulers and mini sock blockers rulers. They should be here in about 4 weeks (perfect Christmas gifts!)

And, how about this? New from Namaste! We just placed our first order. These bags are due to ship out in Nov/Dec. We intend for them to move fast, so if you would like to pre-order please contact us.

The bamboo sock yarn is back! Footapy is also back in stock and we now have new fibers going up this weekend.

This has led us into a new bi-monthly club, Swirl, Twirl and Whirl. I will put details in a separate post.

I haven't posted in awhile, but I have been super busy working on new yarns and a new website. The new website is up! www.knitfitkits.com although I am still adding new products.
One new product we have added to our line that will be with us a SAFF '08 are the Punky Pouches! I am super excited to be working with her and LOVE the pouches. They are so perfect for socks.

Also, I am very excited to be working with some top designers to bring you new patterns and knitting kits!

Sock Club...

I just wanted to let everyone know that the first shipment of the sock club will go out on Aug 1st, and the 1st Friday every month after.
There have been lots of sign-ups all ready. Sign-ups will stay open until next Friday or we are full! Sign-up early before it fills up!

Signing up for a new sock club! The sock club is called "The Yellow Brick Road"
It is a 6 month sock club with each month featuring a yarn based on the Wizard of OZ Bi-Monthly the shipment will include a pattern for the yarn. The base yarns will be a BFL Sock Yarn, Superwash Sport Weight, a Superwash Merino Fingering Weight, and Bamboo Blend fingering Weight.
Each month will also have a special surpise!
The club is $30.00 a month US

New Colorways and Christmas in July!

Several new colorways coming soon... the first skeins are headed to Spin a Yarn in West Jefferson, NC. I am also headed to Spin a Yarn this Saturday for Christmas in July. This is a big event up in the mountains with tons of arts and crafts and people! I am looking forward to spending the whole day in fiber and spinning yarn. If you are in NC you should definitely make the trip and come and see us!
I am also turning the heel on the barn socks, and I have cast on for a new design.
Also I am re-instating the sock club starting Aug. 1st. Sign-ups will open Friday with minimal slots available!

I love this yarn!

This is by far my favorite. I LOVE the softness of this yarn. This would make the PERFECT baby sweater! So soft and silky...
3 new colors, all pastel. Banana Split, Cotton Candy and Oh Baby. These yarns are listed on Etsy, 1 skein in each colorway of Ecstasy (50/50 Suri Alpaca and BFL). I have limited supply of this base yarn so get it while it last! I may be keeping one to knit a baby sweater for B...

New socks...

2 new pairs of socks... I cast on for a pair of Holey socks last night. These socks will be for myself.
I also started a sock that I call "Barn Socks" which is a new design that I hope to have finish and tested by the end of July.
We had a big turn out at the 2-at-a-time socks class at Chix with Stix in Lenoir, NC. Looking forward to doing it again next weekend!
I have also been dyeing a lot of yarn today. I have been dyeing Ecstasy in some new colorways and I love it! This base yarn is to "dye" for (pardon my pun) and I am loving the new colors. There are 3 of them, and they are pastels. Pictures to come soon!
I also have a new furry creature of the feline type. She was a rescue from the streets that Forgotten Felines of Forsyth brought in to the hospital to have spayed Friday. She captured my heart and now lives with me here. I will post photos as soon as I get them. She settled in a little too well! She loves the dogs. B loves her, a little too much, but she is doing well with it!

2 socks at a time...

I love this method! It is the end of second sock syndrome. I am currently teaching classes at yarn shops in North Carolina using this method. It is a life saver for me.
Here is a pair that I am working on using Nature's Choice in the Backyarnigans colorway. I am loving Nature's Choice (bamboo blend) for summer socks, and so are my customers!


I have several new base yarns and have redone part of the site.
I am in love with Endurance and Ecstasy. They are fabulous. I also love Bambaby. It is a green yarn and perfect for baby sweaters (which is what I love knitting).
A new alpaca yarn in DK weight and a Suri alpaca and BFL fingering weight yarn.
I am really excited about carrying these new yarns!
